Fighting the “Perpetual Foreigner” Narrative

Created six years ago while I was a senior at Rutgers University, this project gave me an outlet to talk about Asian-American representation in media (especially as it related to my experiences with gender and queerness at the time). It was nice to put old TV footage from my childhood acting days to use in such a meaningful way.

Women in Media

A four-minute video project combining found and original footage for a freshman-year media/art class at the University of California, San Diego. The prompt I selected was “power”—power in media, power against women, power in the gaze.
